Trends for 2018

Since it's already almost December and 2018 is just around the corner I thought I'd share some upcoming wedding trends with you.

While many traditions will remain timeless there are some new trends emerging that will set your day apart from the rest.

Firstly, the bridal look- a whole new season of wedding dresses. Minimal gowns and veils adorned with romantic flowers as well as flowing full-length capes and heavily embellished cover-ups. The cape hasn't always been practical but when it comes to bridal wear, the garment just makes sense. It's regal and romantic and will be an eye-catcher for sure.

We love the idea of pairing marble and metals. Marble detailing and accents can add modern flair and a sleek edge- whether classic white or a coloured marble blend, there's no wrong way to add this natural element to your wedding day.

Combining metals and marble is very chic and as gold, bronze and copper are trending what better way to add warmth and contrast? Keeping with earth elements the Geode cake is gaining popularity. It offers clean lines and an ever-popular ombré effect.

The current greenery and nature trend brings on a new twist with the use of cactus. It makes a great statement piece and the possibilities are endless. Tall, high floral arrangements are making a comeback. Trumpet vases, hanging flowers, and bold designs will be a big hit.

The colour palettes for the new season: Dusty rose and Green, Lavender and Lilac, Blue and deep Red and of course a firm favourite, Black, White and Gold.

As with any trend, it's important not to go overboard. Try to strike a balance with trends that reflect your personality and traditional accents to keep everything infinite. Finding this harmony will ensure your wedding day stands the test of time.
