Every now and then at Riviera Blu Events, our team gets to design luxurious and glamourous weddings such as the wedding of Ismini and Gerasimos, all the way from New York, New York. We were asked to create a wedding that was sophisticated with an understated elegance which was just up our alley.
The bride wanted to incorporate white flowers with touches of gold and we enticed her to add in a touch of emerald to add in a bit of pizzazz.
The Greek Orthodox ceremony was held on the same grounds as the reception which was very convenient for guests and the couple as no transport was required. An elaborate arch with lush florals such as hydrangeas, roses and orchids was constructed above the quaint chapel’s door which was breathtaking.
After the ceremony guests were led to the next-door property which could be described as majestic with never-ending lawns and trees with the turquoise sea as a spectacular backdrop. They were treated to a harvest table filled with delicious savouries’ and cocktails. There was also a dessert station embellished with décor items, candles, flowers and different delicacies incorporating the colours of the wedding which is our passion to create.
The entrance was decorated with an elegant gold and glass welcome sign placed on a white wooden console decorated with flowers and candles. Flowers, greenery and a crystal chandelier were suspended above completing the elegant look.
Guests were then seated at white, wooden rectangular tables that were ornately decorated with white and green freestyle flower arrangements in different heights. Gold beaded charger plates, emerald green glassware and gold cutlery complemented the overall look and feel of the tables which were placed under majestic trees sprinkled with fairy lights.
The focal point of the wedding décor was the skillfully designed flower, chandelier and fairy light structure that exquisitely showed off the dance floor.
The couple entered the venue to firework fountains and then on to cut their orchid clad wedding cake while the violinist was playing their chosen song in her elegant emerald gown.
The evening continued with a live band, breaking plates - which has been linked with the Greek concept of ‘kefi’ (high spirits and fun). Plates broken at a wedding reception symbolizes good luck and a happy lasting marriage.
After midnight, the Athenian skies were lit up with fireworks and the bridal couple and their guests danced the night away until the early hours of the morning,
