Our first meeting was held at the Hilton in Athens and all I can say when meeting this wonderful couple is that true love does exist. Nik and Nix were truly a pleasure to work with and always so passionate and excited about everything! The couple both live in London but Nicolette was born and raised in South Africa (my home country too!) Nikolaos was born and raised in Athens, Greece.
They mentioned that they were going to have 2 weddings. The first one was to be held on an exquisite wine farm in Cape town, South Africa, which was to have a classic elegance and their wedding in Greece was to have a unification of both cultures and most importantly they wanted to have a party!
We decided on incorporating orange(the colour representing South Africa) and blue(representing Greece of course). The idyllic Church of Saint Dimitrios on the premises of Grand resort Lagonissi on the Athens Riviera was decorated a garland decorated with blue Hydrangea and David Austin roses. 2 lambades(ceremony candles) were decorated with a slanted wreath using the same flowers. We also created a personalized service booklet for Greek and South African guests.
The venue was decorated with tropical flowers incuding Pin cushion Proteas, Strelitzias and lilies. The colourful sweets table was embellished with delicacies from South Africa such as fudge, coconut ice and milk tart. The Greek sweets that were included were kourabiedes (traditional Greek biscuits, pasteli (seseme brittle), and louloumia (turkish delight.)
